I didn't mean much by what I said. We get most of our income from the row crops. It just always impresses me as to how far a dollar can be stretched in the cattle business, but in crops you're some kind of wiener if you don't throw hundreds of thousands around like it's no big deal. A die hard cattle guy writes his pay check by figuring out how to save a buck, not spend one. I have nothing but respect, as I'd likely sink like a rock if I had to make the cows write the whole check.


I agree with you completely! I wasn't trying to be argumentative with my post. Just wanted to let people know that they shouldn't stop trying to farm gound just because they don't have new shiney machinery. I had made a post a couple weeks back about how many of us make their entire living off of the livestock to prove a point. Fact is, most of us do it as a hobby and pay the bills with row crops or a town job.
