Subject: RE: morton buildings

I have a Morton building put up in 1989, it's a 45 x 75. It was the first new machine shed we ever had, so at first we were tickled to death with it. But about 10 years later the paint started peeling off the roof, so I called headquarters in Morton Illinois, and the runaround began, they were sending a rep out right away, three weeks later I called again, they had misplaced all my information and took it down again, said someone would get a hold of me soon. A week or two later a rep called me said he would like me to send him a sample of the paint that was peeling off and put it in an envelope and send it back to him, I said my farm is only 20 miles from your main headquarters in Illinois, why don't you come out and look at it, he said he would sell me new paint if I wanted to repaint it myself, that there was a problem with the paint back in 1989 and there was nothing he could do about it. I called them a few more times over the next year or so and never got anywhere with them, I couldn't even get these guys to come out to the farm and look at it. I could go on for hours about this, long story short is the next building we put up was a Cleary and I'm very satisfied with it, the salesman has called a few times to make sure everything is good, he has called and asked if I would let him bring possible buyers out so they could compare the Cleary to the Morton with the paint peeling roof, I always tell him go ahead, so I can explain how the Morton Building Warranty worked on this building.
If I put up another building I will get some prices from local contractors in the area, should have done that with the first building.
