South Texas | I'm looking at a JD MX8, which is an 8', dual rotor, and probably semi-mount. Are they any good? The dealer also has a Rhino for a few hundred dollars more. The two outside gearboxes are heavier on the Rhino. My needs are not heavy duty and it'll be on a 62 HP tractor. The JD can be configured up to a 12" offset, if desired--not sure if the Rhino can. They both weigh the same--about 1600 lbs.
One of my objectives is to find a unit that'll NOT windrow the shreddings--those kind are pretty easy to find, such as in the back of my shed.
