SE Minnesota | +1 on doing your homework. I would start by talking with other area farmers are doing, and what system is making them money. Then you can build your equipment arsenal around a proven program instead of shooting from the hip. Even the most used and abused equipment is bringing a premium on the auction yards and dealerships, so I too would pencil it out with custom farmed rates, as well as cost per acre of the equipment you intend to buy. That 4640 isn't going to depreciate much sitting there for 1 year while you get your bearings. | |
