Subject: Re: proper way to weld auger flighting to shaft

East Central Saskatchewan
I made a jig for stretching the new flighting used an old piece of flighting minus the tube about 3 feet long, welded a piece of light angle to each side tied together with a light channel across the bottom. Tack the new flighting at the top, thread on the jig on the bottom use vice grips to attach to new flighting then using a bottle jack between the jig and the auger shaft you could gently/precisely pull the new flighting to a proper fit. The jig is buried in snow and I am a long ways from snow right now, but it worked very nic for me. Replace all the flighting on a Brandt 10 x 60 swing auger.
