Subject: Re: energy free cattle waterers

Bardstown, Ky
I have three rithie's, the open top is fairly maintenance free and rarely gets ice on it if there are just a few cattle drinking from it, on the other hand I have a couple of 2 hole waterers with the balls in them and they are junk. You cannot keep a float valve working in them. Anything ritchie supplies will leak after about 2 weeks gave up dealing with them and trying to fix the problem. Finally went to the hardware store and for $18 put a brass float valve for a toilet in it after modifying the float rod and it lasted a couple of years but it needs replacing again now.
