Wallis, TX | Some do, I tried for a few years to keep the same rows but eventually we'll get a wet year, rut up the fields with the combines and have to disk flat. Now,,,,, with the advent of RTK we're looking to try and keep some beds in the same spot. Even if we have to disk flat we can bed up over the old rows. Due to some problems with my RTK correction I was unable to use my old beds this fall, hopefully the dealer got his signal in order so next year they will be in exactly the same place. Edited to add; Our cotton stalk destruction rules also play into some of our practices. Per TDA rules our stalks must be destroyed either chemically or mechanically by a certian date. Chemicals are so-so at best, and the stalk puller can miss them as well, especially if it rains. The 'old' way to destroy stalks is to 'plow' them with a middlebuster, making a new row in the middles as you went. I'd guess half the cotton acres are still done this way.
