WC MN

We ridge tilled in the late 80's and early ninety's for around ten years.....   got out right before round up ready.

Looking back, two things that would make it much more feasable today to ridge till here would be round up technology (no more multiple trips with cultivator) , and much improved drainage tile (no more wet spots during planting).

The operation had 2 -16 row orthman pull types 1 - 8 row mounted, and 1- 16 row mounted conventional cultivator for end rows and first pass.   They worked great.    Our summers were extremely busy.   I made good money and stayed out of trouble sitting in that 4450 on the 8 row at 4 bucks an hour.

Talk to fellas who do it for areas of problems,  things like placement of fert is key,   google: george rehms ridge till: for more info.     Your location would also influence your results.
