Faunsdale, AL | Easiest and cheapest way is to run the mixer off the PTO direct drive and have either a small engine driven pump or a 12V power pack unit to run any door or spout you have. Of course this means you must be in neutral or moving along when mixing and limits how much feed you can deliver in one pass.
I used to worry about it, but we usually appreciate spreading the feed along the bunk in several passes. That way you tend to get an even spread, no skips at the end etc if you miscalculate. You do have to be pretty good at backing up alongside the bunk. We install a 2X12 along our H bunks to protect them from the truck tires. Also have a "hub cap" made out of a high pressure weld-on pipe cap which covers the hub seal and keeps the lugs on the front wheel from digging into the bunk or bumper board if you cut too much. | |
