Subject: RE: Electric Heat Question

central - east central Minnesota -

Dennis SEND - 1/16/2013 12:23
Tom Graham - 1/16/2013 10:37 Consider running a duct from the LP furnace to the garage.
Not possible to do so very easily anyways, unless we want a furnace duct coming up through the main part of the house to get into the attic as that is the only way to get heat out there from the lp furnace, the 4000 watt heater I have hanging in the garage right now is more than enough, the garage is actually insullated better than the house (house built in 74 with 2x4 walls) garage & office addition built in 09' with 2x6 walls I insulated the garage well and put good doors in so that it would not cost a lot to heat, I was told the local coop "spot checks" houses every so often to make shure that you have a back up heat source if they are on the off-peak rate.

Pick up a burned out cheap (free) ventless fish house heater off craigslist . . . . . tell'em you bring in a 100lb bottle of propane and that's your back up heat.
Knipco heater ?
Val6 heater ?
both back up sources ?
