Burns the eyes if you get a good whiff. We use it to control the noxious weeds. We have a dedicated sprayer and spend many many hours spot spraying. I've never tried wicking with vinegar it may not have enough contact to do much. Our best rye defense is prevention. Certified seed every year, and plain old pulling it. There are so many who claim that organic guys are lazy. I challenge them to walk a 160 acre strip with us and pull rye when it's 90+ degrees. Is it worth it? Every truck is inspected before loading. I can tell you exactly when each grain bin was swept out and cleaned. These are requirements of organic certification. Every input is documented. If we have something custom farmed their equipment is cleaned and inspected. Our own equipment is cleaned and inspected after use. There are no short cuts. It takes dedication and attention to detail. Since we've become internationally certified I think we have been inspected at least ten time in 2012. As I stated above anyone is welcome to visit.
