Subject: RE: are 366 engines still made?

Star Prairie, WI
Dan't know if they are still made, but 366 was a common engine in a lot of 50-70 series trucks frome the 70's up. They are a big block engine, so anything from 366-396-402-427-454 will bolt to the same bellhousing.

I've been told there are some differences between the truck 366 and 427 and the passenger car/light truck big blocks, not sure what they are, but it keeps the demand for "industrial" big blocks low, since hot rod parts are generally not made for them.

All in all, I'd not be afraid of a BB chev gasser in a medium truck, fairly bulletproof, and any part you need should be a call to the local NAPA away. Just don't expect to win any drag races off the scales with it.

FWIW

Steve
