Subject: RE: Going organic,pesticide residue

Alton, Ia
Smarter and well informed are different things.

Let me get your second point straight...... On the one hand, pesticides are evil because they are based on DDT or AO, and on the other hand, no-till is the way to go because it repairs "decades of damages". Is there a lot of ground no-tilled WITHOUT herbicide? I can't imagine that being a very good program, industrywide. I know what my fields look like if I skip spray. I also can't imagine being able to raise a good enough corn crop to build OM in soil, make a profit, feed the hungry, etc. Please explain to me how you can have it both ways.

Ross asked a very good question. If animals fed "commercial" corn don't have residues in the manure, why would their meat?

And I'll pass on your offer. I was/am already involved in natural pork, and it has been a "wonderful" learning experience.
