Subject: Re: Going organic

North west Iowa
organic is a complete joke i know someone who hauls organic grain and at the elevator it got dumped in the same pit as the regular corn didn't even clean it out !! we have a guy across the fence who is hard core organic and also rasies organic cows he cant even put in treated fence poles he uses logs from cut trees. his crops look horrible too, you can row his corn from both directions. i often joke that for a test we should bring over some of our roundup ready sweet corn in the summmer and not say anything and see if he can tell the difference ha. If we all farmed that way the land would be in terrible shape plus the world would starve. in ag most of us are trying to be progressive and be more efficent by raising more bushels with less inputs and at the same time IMPROVE the soil. organic is moving backwards.
