Find your market.

I,ve thought about it too.

I can haul crops to my regular elevator a 1/2 mile from my farm. Many others around, 6 miles away to the next.

Organic I need to haul 23 miles to the closest buyer, next one is 100 or so miles away.

Looking it over, time and distance, transport costs would eat up my premiums for my small farm. Also seems difficult to tie myself to the only buyer in my area. The wording on their contracts leave a lot of wiggle room for delivery and payment times, I believe it works out ok but the wording left me a bit puzzled.....

(I know many of you deliver conventional crops more than 23 miles, I know I have it good with my very short grain round trips.)
