I was born in '66 and have had my share of the crud. Remember getting pink sweet tasting stuff from the doc and NASTY tasting purple stuff, both in a in a prescription bottle. To this day, I think the nasty stuff was blackberry brandy, repackaged. Works well as a preventative, also. :)
