West Central Iowa | Without removing the seal retainer plate it is very difficult to stretch the wear sleeve with a chisel. I do not like to remove the retainer plate if I don't absolutely have to, because then you have to deal with the pan gasket across the bottom of the retainer plate. I just heat the wear sleeve with a ox/acy. torch red hot in several spots and it will pry right off.
Be sure to check the torque on the retainer bolts. Also be sure to use NEW flywheel bolts loctited and torqued to specs.
As the other posters have stated, you need a special tool to install the new seal and wear sleeve in one step. | |
