West Central Wisconsin | We run a 980 JD FC on chiseled ground which is corn on corn. In some of our peat type soils it fluffs up the ground too much despite running it as shallow as possible. I'm just trying to smooth out the ridges from the chisel plow and spring application of NH3. A rolling basket/roller, be it pulled or part of a finisher would also help with seedbed prep for alfalfa. I'm also trying to decide whether to pull a roller behind or switch to a soil fisher. Joe | |
