I gotta agree with that, Dave. Considering how much a week's time can change yield potential and/or futures price, it's more important to have an overall revenue objective in mind and try to concentrate on achieving that as the yield/price equation evolves. That's why I have such a problem with the idea of "forward contracting at a guaranteed profit." Probably why I also despised and got bad grades from an algebra teacher at one point. I could do the mathematical part just fine, but putting the process on paper the way he wanted to grade it just wasn't the way my brain wanted to operate. He would probably be shocked that I can successfully tankmix a sprayer. |
