WC Indiana | I had a lot of business classes at Purdue (1975-1979) that talked about the 5 year business plans. I started farming in the early 80's and was broke by 1988. Obviously my 5 year plan was not to go broke. I made most of my mistakes in the first 2 or 3 years out of college.
My take from this experience was to do the best I can do for today. Obviously I have to market ahead and have somewhat a long term equipment plan. I don't go a whole lot above that.
I do remember some of the best business advice I got was to not look back after making a decision. The future may make that a very poor decision but you have to learn form that and not do it again.
