Subject: Re: Field Cultivator vs Finisher

Southern IL Randolph County
Several years ago we were running a DMI Tigermate II with a Unverferth 220 rolling harrow which did a beautiful job, but it was like moving a freight train around in certain areas. We like to do an early season burndown on the bean stubble and we now have a Great Plains Discovator that we generally will get by with one pass. The field cultivator would work for this sometimes depending on the ground conditions, but was better with a pass with a disk first. I do wish we still had the Unverferth harrow at times yet as that would do a nicer job than the single basket on the Discovator.
