Eastern, IN | I don't know why I was thinking about this a few days ago but I read a post some time ago about folks that do or don't do projections 1-2 years out. I normally sell some crops 2 years out, have projects out 20+ months and even have a business plan for 5 years out (right or wrong). This is for my information only and not for any bank.
On that post, some folks that don't do projections stated, "you can't do projections because you don't have any idea what the inputs will cost or what the weather will be like". Does that mean you guys also don't pay cash rents until after you harvest the crop? Or for the folks that don't rent land: Do you decide to close on the new farm purchased after a few years of crops. Or do you just farm as long as there is money in your account? I am just asking......
