The practice of putting a 1 x 4 on the frame rails is dead in these parts. Most trucks around here are mounted steel on steel bolted to the side of the frame. After many years of use there will be a very slight wear point where it has flexed over the years. Mostly from dust that gets between the parts. No issues so far.
Mounting a grain body, any tips?
