...I'll have to look, but I don't think we ever boxed any stringers on our tandems at the pivot point. Both of them at the pivot have a reinforced plate mounted (either bolted or welded) to the wheel side of the stringer, that extends down to a hole through the frame with a bushing and plate mounted inside the frame. Then there is about a 2 inch rod across the back of the frame that the bed pivots on. This allows the bed to move backward somewhat at the same time that it is moving up...making it much easier to keep it centered over an auger.
