| its too difficult to find a "good" used flatbed gooseneck.
I'll have pitty for the guy who picks up our flatbed (32' tandem dual) once it leaves the farm. It looks good from a walk-a-round, but we've replaced both hubs on the rear axle, wheel bearings all around and constantly gross the pickup & trailer out at 40k lbs. I don't have a problem being honest disclosing everything I mentioned here, but that flatbed has seen nicer days.
For peace of mind, buy a new one...
We've grown to a point where it will make more sense for use to get a 53/48' drop deck and a ~24' gooseneck for smaller hauls.
It's too easy to get in over their head in the event where some teeny-bopper pulls in front of you while barreling down the highway and you've gotta hit the binders because that same kid now wants to make an abrupt left turn.
Just my $.02, take it for what it's worth. | |
