central mo | Dad died in March, had to replant half the corn,20% of the beans, had to feed 15% of my hay though the summer, and sold calves two months earlier than normal,Watched my family farm of 74 years auctioned off in Sept. Corn has failed several tests for alfaltoxin, still trying to find a buyer. Culled several cows this fall due to lack of hay, sold spring calves right off of cows also...Audrey was born in May,she's number 5, got a very good stand out of replant, some fields yielded better than early plantings ,Dad had a trust set up thankfully, Harvest went well not much trucking, not much chore work this winter .To summarize, other than losing dad too soon,68,can't complain | |
