Shelbina, Missouri (NEMO) | I demo'd a RTS Salford two years ago in the spring, and yeah, it was okay, but only in fall sprayed corn stalks. In that situation, it did a good job of chopping residue, and a decent job of drying the soil for planting. In slightly weedy conditions, or when it was dry enough no to need any "airing off" it was useless. At $1400 per foot of width, there was NO WAY any white man could afford such a tool just to open up no till ground in a wet year, and that is ALL it was good for. Otherwise, it was a waste of fuel and time. Vertical tillage equals no tillage, which in this part of the world equals no crop and no livelihood. Stick with a wide swath of soil engaging cultivator sweeps, and you'll live a lot happier life......
