North East Indiana | We had an old timber frame barn that burnt, so that was kinda our base idea. Then because of cost and trying to heat the new one we cut out the bank and dug footers, poured a 6" slab over thick top quality foam insulation. (ran per water lines every 6"to 11"oc depending on ceiling height for radiant heat.) In short, my wife drew it, I changed it, back in forth bout 15 times then we sent drawings to engineer who changed them, then we changed them back. Then we had the timbers sourced and cut, they also noched them. Trucked them here from maine, we put them up with help from neighbors. Everything fit perfect! So both, from scratch, and kinda prefab. Wish I woulda kept track of man hrs, it would blow me away I bet. Thanks for the reply! | |
