Baldwin City, KS
We farm an acreage amount and run a cowherd size that I assume to be pretty similar to that of at least a few of my area colleagues. If I took a picture of my equipment lineup, you would know the answer to your question. I would like to have better equipment some time, but what we have now, works for now and we can manage the payments. In your case, you appear to be pretty established and have worked hard to earn your position. I'd say if you want it, go get it. Otherwise, tell the neighbors to pound sand down a rat hole, if they insinuate you might be getting behind. Butt goes in seat, loader starts, scoops feed, feed ends up in Harsh wagon, cattle get fed, end of story. What else do you need? I'd say unless the packers start relating your cattle bids to your equipment line up, you can do what Garvo wants to do.
