Dalton, OH
Have run Krone 3x3's for many years. Ran a Hesston this season along side a Krone and won't run another. Not impressed. Hesston makes a good baler, don't get me wrong, but the Krone has quite a bit more capacity, especially in wet hay. I bale dry hay, wet hay, and straw. None of my employees would run the Hesston so I ended up running it myself the entire season. In wet hay especially, plugging the pickup and pre-chamber can happen. With the Hesston you get out and turn it backwards by hand, dig, repeat, until you feel it will go through. The Krone unplugs itself in seconds. So most of the time my Krone baler would be running circles around me in the Hesston while I unplugged it. On average at the end of the day, the Krone would bale 20% more bales. Not sure where the poster got the idea about Krone being cheap. They are about the same price as a Hesston. I should know as I trade balers every year. The key to any baler is the dealer to stand behind it for parts and service. I have an excellent dealer for both brands within 10 miles so I let their performance do the talking. If you don't have access to a good Krone dealer, buy a Hesston and run from any other brand out there.
