N.C. Iowa
I have a 8575 CaseIH baler and have had real good luck with it. An 8575 baler is the same as a Hesston 4755 and a New Idea 7333. The Hesston 4760 is a newer version, and it is the same as some Challenger and Massey balers. The most troublesome spot for me has been the cam bearings on the pickup on the right hand side standing behind the baler. I just made a habit of replacing them every spring and checking them often throughout the season to make sure everything is tight on that side. I did buy a kit from Maize corp that will update it to a dual cam pickup like the 4760 that I am going to put in this winter. Mine don't have a knotter fan, but I would recommend one. If worried about too many bales to pick up get a 8576 accumulator to put behind the baler so you can drop 4 or 5? bales at a time.

Thing besides the pickups to check would be on the left hand side there's a big heavy chain that runs quite a few mechanisms, make sure the gears that are turned by the chains are fairly tight and don't have a lot of play in them. On other balers I have seen some have cracks or have been welded on the back where the plunger compresses hay into the chamber. Take a pry bar and to lift up on the plunger to check for play in the bearings that the plunger rolls back and forth on. You should be able to tell if a baler has had care or not, and parts are still available. Bought my baler with around 25000 bale and now has 62000 bales through it, and plan on running and fixing it for awhile.

As you probably already know don't buy a John Deere 100.
