In a thread about dishonesty, I find your comment quite ironic.  Your point is well taken that maps are no more reliable than the person giving them to you, but I'm not so sure that a custom cutter's deception to steal is any worse than promoting deception in borrowing.  Seems to me that over time both paths lead to the same end.
