I am going to disagree with some of the others on here.
I think that if you use a "regular" corn head, you get plenty of trash on the ground, and with snow, it is packed down and covers the ground.
If you use a Chopping corn head, you would have the same amount of trash on the ground and it would be chopped.
We have a chopping corn head, and we can still leave the stalks 12-18 in tall, but the stuff laying on the ground is chopped.
We no till drill in the spring.
