Southwest OK | 4J, I would be interested in knowing the daily consumption of your mineral. I have fed cheap mineral in the past, it never penciled. Consumption of cheap mineral in my operation was typically above four ounces a day, with some mineral it was as high as eight. As for the tubs not having energy, they are a cooked molasses and beet pulp base. Both very high energy commodities. I will try to post a label at a later date.
I'm not sure of your location, but there are no distilleries close to me. Last time I checked 320 a ton was the cheapest I could get delivered. That certainly won't pencil. Another thing, most of my wells have a very high sulfur content, and during this drought the minerals in our surface water has become much more concentrated. Not an ideal time to be adding a feed with potential sulfur issues. Especially on pregnant heifers. | |
