Sunnyside, WA
I am also very limited on acres and all irrigated. I have been raising all corn for silage double cropped with triticale. I started seeding some alfalfa a couple years ago as a rotation. I would like to be 25-30% alfalfa with the balance in corn for the future. Some of my fields have been continous corn a long time. Both yield about 10 tons of dm per acres and the alfalfa may have the edge on income per acre but is a little harder to always put up the highest quality for all 5 cuttings.

Figure out the crop rotation the gives you the combination of net income and quality feed per acre and grow that combination. Spreading your risk with a couple different crops can help in the dry or wet years.
