SW TX PANHANDLE
We have a calmer corn head with the chopping rollers which seems to shred everything that passes between them into small pieces. We will see next spring if this helps on decomposition. Our biggest problem with breaking this down over winter, especially these last 3 years, is a lack of moisture from fall to spring. If the corn stalk is still fairly green when cutting, it destroys them. However, if the stalks are very dry it basically just crimps them. I believe you can put these chopping stalk rollers on most other makes of corn heads.
