Near-north Ontario, French River | I don't know the answer but I'm willing to consider any and all ideas before poo-pooing them. What I have noticed in these cases though is that when there's an incident both camps ( Pro-gun and anti-gun) immediately come out swinging. When both sides are so entrenched in their belief the problem will NEVER get solved, it's only when everyone is willing to have an open and honest discussion that progress will be made. Just look at this thread, someone tosses out the idea about even moderate control or new laws and immediately the "pros" screen second amendment and start listing dooms day scenarios. Where's the middle ground? If the answer isn't laws , then is it social problem ( ie treating/diagnosing mental illness), is it cultural ( clean up movies, video games, books) etc ... or is it a combination of all those things? |
