| I bought some heifers at the Lanesboro, MN auction yesterday. I think they sold over 1500 bred cows and heifers (special sale). Several pot loads came all the way from Nebraska. The first two pots were bought by single buyers at $1850. They were nice cows for sure, but wow. The top of the line AI bred Black Angus heifers and 1st calf heifers seemed to average around $1650. I got a nice set of Red Angus 1st calf heifers for $1275. A guy could have picked up some pretty decent heifers for $1100.
I was pretty surprised that the sale was still going on when I got there to pick mine up at 7:30PM. They said they still had 150 more to sell at that time. Poor salesbarn employees looked like they were just dragging. Sale started at 10AM, but they started work at 8AM. | |
