It's not that I don't think having a plan is a good idea, but the schools plan is to basically lock all of the kids in the room they're in, shut the blinds, and hope for the best. I really don't have a better idea, but it seems the kids and staff are sitting ducks. Considering that most schools are built with brick and block, if the room/hall doors are substantial (the schools that I'm familiar with have solid doors) and the locks are good, keeping the kids in the room and the shooter out is probably as good of a plan as anything short of taking out the shooter. |
