Theodore, Saskatchewan | Can anyone tell me if what I just read is true?
Massive U.S. milk subsidies will
automatically become payable Jan. 1
if a new farm bill or an extension is
not voted and passed by Congress
before then. If not, farm laws will
revert to versions in some cases dating to the 1950s. A floor price for
milk of $38.54 per cwt would apply
compared to the current market price
of $16.22, with the USDA obliged to
make up the difference on an unlimited amount of production. | |
