don't fool with battery packs to try and store electricity. Store water instead. Now having said this, and has been pointed out by previous posters, the bigger the pump the more the panels and the total cost is higher. My idea is to just make sure your water tanks are bigger- like think 3 days water supply in front of the cattle. You need to have the tanks full BEFORE the cows get there; you will never get ahead if not. 90 head @ 25 gal/day x 3 days = 6750 gal
