Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Marten, I don't know what the purpose of crop insurance is. I'm not a conspiracy person but if I was , then I would probably believe that the purpose(s) of subsidized crop insurance is to; (1) buy votes, (2) subsidize crop insurance companies, (3) subsidize farmers that farm in the US indemnity belt ( western half of US). That's not the "advertized" purpose of subsidized crop insurance, but it seems to be the "effective" purpose of subsidized crop insurance. Anyway, more than half of PA farmers don't buy crop insurance so majority of PA farmers are voting NO crop insurance, subsidized or otherwise, with their wallet. Majority is not always correct, but odds do favor majority. |
