Subject: Suspension on a flatbed semi trailer military version

Walnut Grove MN USA
Took a semi tractor in today for alignment and noticed in the next stall they were working on a triple axle flatbed painted up in military green paint.. It had the spoke wheels and upon nosing around I noticed it seemed to have the front and rear axle solid mounted but the middle axle had a leaf spring basicly encased in a heavy plate tube that connected all three axles. When they pulled it out it appeared that the front and rear axles did move as if they had some kind of suspension. It was a regular flatbed, not a lowboy or stepdeck. Just curious as to what kind of setup this had.
