Casey IL. ( I -70 ) then south on rt.49
Every time a person ends up haveing cows or calves needing to sell now or after the first of the yr. it seems like the answer is always sell them now and sell the feed.
While this maybe as good as answer as hold on to them. I still have a problem of selling my feed that I have saved to feed to my livestock.
1 - I do not seem to beable to get the price out of hay that others talk about.
2 - I saved this feed to feed to my livestock so I can enjoy what ever part of livestock there is to enjoy.
3 - Even though I aim to make a profit on feeding my cows and or calves, I would not be doing it if I did not enjoy it. Now that I put it that way I probly would not be farming if I did not have this deep desire to do so.. As the thread above talks about the hrs. are not great, the machinery broke and where is the money coming from, or I lost acow last night, the livestock got out at 2am. on and on.
4 - Yes I farm to make a liveing and it is in my blood.
5 - and last of all you need to sell your culls acrding to what you think is best for your operation. Call and talk to the sale barn and see what they think is a good time to sell.
