blairsville,pa
couldn't agree more, the counties I farm in have aph's of 96 and 98 bu corn. The only reason I have insurance is the just incase this year really is a zero. I have grown alot the last few years and am spread pretty thin. IF the zero year ever came I would be sitting on the bench in my yard watchin the auction. FWIW I am in the lower yeilding parts of the state and this year was my worst corn average. Still 21 above county. Where I am I dont beleive i'll ever have 170+ corn but I don't think I'll ever have 70- corn either. So why would we buy 85% revenue @$60 bucks an acre ( I think thats what it cost this year) to ensure 81 bushels. Oh well just am happy to be able to give another run at it next year
