central - east central Minnesota -

I was 10 - remember helping Dad set up the 4 inch auger to pull the few bushels out of the Grainery (I'm guessing about 500 bu or so) - given the wagon we used and trips made to the elevator). I really remember talking 'bout getting every bean out of the corners and loose boards when sweeping the bin - because of the high price.  He worked off the farm in the city and he bought a new station wagon and some other things for around the house. Man, I thought that amount of money then was like 2 million bucks now. Had the farm to keep us kids off the streets and busy. Being the youngest - It worked for me . . . .
