He did eventually talk about the H word but thinks there might only be high inflation rather than hyperinflation. He could be correct. It depends on so many factors that I see no way of predicting any precise level of outcome. I'm not a big fan of cycle theory being used for predicting the future. I do believe cycles exist and they even have a place in explaining what happened post. I just have a hard time believing that even if they can predict the future the coarseness of their predictive abilities would be such that they would be hardly useful for trading. I'm a fundamentals guy. For those that like cycle theory for predictions, more power to you and that portion of the article might be your cup of tea. After the above paragraph caveat, the rest of the article I found mirrored my findings so closely it is uncanny. For those that take the time to read it (I would expect few will because of its length and subject matter) it is a very good historical account as well as summary of current events shaping the value of our currency. It is a must read that unfortunately few will. This is basically a summary of what has taken me five years of reading and studying to come to the conclusions he has. One particular quote that hit home: In case you don’t think the Federal Reserve is serious in reducing the value of the dollar, it’s worth remembering these comments from high-profile hedge fund manager, Kyle Bass, speaking at the annual AmeriCatalyst event in late-2011: “The government’s idea right now is we are going to export our way out of this and when I asked a senior Obama administration official last week how are we going to grow exports if we won’t allow nominal wage deflation? And he says, we are just going to kill the dollar. I said okay…I mean, that’s the only answer.” In case you did not catch it, he was basically saying that killing the value of the dollar has the same effect as wage deflation. Good luck all you US government bond holders. You are going to need it. And for those of you who still believe the central bank is independent of politics, if the above statement doesn't convince you otherwise..........I'll just break it to you gently, there is no tooth fairy.
