| 80 million$ or 100 million $ plants still cost the owners money when they are idle. The capital costs still go on whether they make ethanol or not. So operating may limit their losses to a portion of the loss they would have if not operating. If they go broke then the new owners will buy them for pennies on the dollar and perhaps they will turn a profit again.
I hear prarie creek ethanol returned the investment capital and is not trying to rework a plan to go with a 50 million gallon plant with oil recovery capability. | |
