 Central Kentucky | You sure can and I think you will like this setup. I did it on my single axle tractor. Best rig to pull a long goose next there is. I didn't use a hide-a-ball. That is generally not needed but you can. Make a new heavy duty cross member behind the fifth wheel down in the frame so that the ball is below the fifth wheel/kingpin travel. You will have no problems. I use an electric brake controller that applies braking base on the movement and pitch of the truck. You can set the brake bias to suit you. Don't have to cut any lines. Put a new elec plug right beside the ball just like a flat bed setup. Another plus is for DOT purposes a goose neck trailer not on the fifth wheel but on a goose neck ball is not a tractor trailer truck. So some of the rules relax. | |
