frankly condition would dictate to me to adjust the ration..... 2-3% of wieght is a good starting point, but if your culls are fat, you need to adjust your feed, less of it or less rich.

I am no cow expert, but learning, A fat and sassy cow isn't a good thing when it comes to calving and re-breeding. You want them healthy, but not fat or you will be pulling lots of calves........ the birth canal area 'shrinks' as the cow gets fatter.
